This armed security guard training is a crucial 47-hour course, serving as the first step to obtaining your special armed guard registration card from the New York State Department of State. To enroll, you must hold a valid pistol license under New York Penal Law Section 400.00, along with a current New York State security guard registration card. 

Our course structure includes: 

• 7 Hours of In-Depth Discussion: Dive into New York State Penal Law Article 35, focusing on the use of force and deadly physical force. 

• 40 Hours of Range Instruction: Participate in hands-on range training and qualification to ensure you are fully prepared for real-world scenarios. 

To successfully complete this course, students must pass a written examination covering Article 35 and qualify in handgun use. With our expert instructors guiding you, you will be confident in your abilities. 

Maintain your edge with our 8-hour annual firearms training class for armed guards. This course is mandatory and must be completed within 12 months after finishing the 47-hour firearms training course, and annually thereafter. 

Eligibility for this class includes holding a valid pistol license under New York Penal Law Section 400.00 and a current New York State security guard registration card. 

The course consists of: 

• 3 Hours of Legal Training: Gain further insights into New York State Penal Law Article 35, reinforcing your understanding of the use of force. 

• 5 Hours of Range Instruction: Hone your skills with practical training and qualification. 

To complete this course successfully, students must again pass a written examination on Article 35 and qualify in handgun use.  

Note: Security guards and applicants only need to complete this course once annually.
